Have you ever had an emotional freak out over a breakup with a partner, fight with a family member, immense financial pressures or feel like everything is crashing down on you?
This can cause you to feel stuck in your emotional turmoil and leave you paralysed from not being able to control your situation. After much trial and error, I have discovered eight powerful methods to move you quickly from your negative state and get you attracting solutions and better outcomes.
Keeping emotions in check
Most of the methods I learned are what some men do naturally. Men seem to be more stable in difficult times as they don’t invest as much emotion in them as women. I read an insightful quote from a blogger named Patrick Allen “ …accepting failure, being okay with not getting what you want right now, is one of the best, best success strategies, but it takes mental toughness…” and “Learn to delay gratification and let things go.”
It’s human nature to try and fix things or take control over people and situations to make you feel safe and secure. It feels uncomfortable to allow things to be and not feel panic. It may be hard, but resist reacting to situations until the time is right for you to respond.
My painful experiences have pushed me to be more in every way. I now choose never to waste an opportunity to grow as my pain tells me I need to change. So now, I cut to the chase and get working on myself. It has taken me years even to realise there are shortcuts to overcoming emotional stress. It is all about working on yourself instead of what is happening around you.
Methods to deal with emotional crisis
The following 8 methods will raise your physical, emotional and spiritual state to alleviate any stress or turmoil you may be experiencing.
- Physical Strength
Engaging in physical exercise builds resilience and is a way of releasing the emotional stress in your body. Physically exert yourself with strenuous exercise using a mantra to release the fears and stress. You will experience how the physical effort in a workout will remove the negative emotions stuck in your cells. I use the mantra while I am running or working out. “I am love, power, trust, and surrender.”
- Food Intake
Eating healthy light foods and ingesting vegetable juices helps keep your body in a peak state. Staying hydrated with good pure water supports the body in a stressful state as your body dehydrates more quickly in times of stress. Junk food takes energy from your body and puts more pressure on it. The food you eat over a stressful period will either add or help eliminate your stress. The adage that a healthy body creates a healthy mind is true.
For thousands of years, people have used meditation to move beyond the mind’s stress-inducing thoughts and emotional upsets to regain peace and clarity of mind. When you meditate, it trains the mind to keep focused on more peace and calm in your life. It is a great way to increase your spirituality and build your resistance against stress. Begin a daily meditation practice or join a meditation group to calm your body and ultimately attract more calming situations into your life.
Decide on an outcome or goal you wish to achieve to keep your mind directed on something else. By channeling your energy into something constructive, it will take it away from the negativity or problems that permeate your mind. Create vision boards to assist you to focus. I create different vision boards on various topics such as one I labeled “Magic”. I listed all the moments in my life where amazing things happened to me to remind me my life is guided.
Surrounding yourself with people or helping others with their problems can put things into perspective. Participating in uplifting or constructive activities will distract you from your current situation. Ensure the activities are nurturing and rewarding as you want to counteract as much negativity as you can. You can engage things like yoga, bushwalking, crafts, running club or any activity that takes your fancy.
Back in the day when I was a churchgoer, I would fast once a month for 24 hours, and I found it to be a very spiritual experience. When done correctly it calms the body and mind. I still use it today if I am stressed. I will apply intermittent fasting but always keep my body well hydrated. It heightens and strengthens me spiritually, which elevates me emotionally.
Find some inspirational books on overcoming obstacles or personal stories on how others beat the odds and achieved success in their life. Books can be read at any time and bring you back into focus. It disrupts your thinking from your negativity or problems and motivates you to overcome your situation. Keep a good library of self-help books that are always at hand. Books are so easily accessed today with Kindle books that are being bought with the click of a button.
Never underestimate the power of receiving healing or getting some therapy. Choose a healer you feel drawn to and trust they will help you. Cleaning up your energy field with energy healing will elevate you spiritually and emotionally. Energy healing is the fastest way to remove negative cords and attachments from people and places and find causes to why you are experiencing your current situation.
Your Pain Will Motivate You
The objective of the eight methods listed is to raise your emotional, physical and spiritual state. This will grow you to become stronger and to create better circumstances in your life. When I practice these methods, my crises are overcome so much faster and more efficiently. My pain motivates me to change, and I have experienced that these methods remove the spiritual/emotional distress so much faster than doing nothing.
Pain is an opportunity to grow and become more. No one enjoys feeling emotional pain, but you will grow accustomed to it, and your painful times will be less frequent and endured for much less time by using the eight methods above.
