Imagine stepping into a room and before you even say a word, your body reacts. Your heartbeat may quicken, your thoughts grow foggy, or your muscles tighten. This isn’t random. You’re responding to the invisible yet powerful vibrations of the people/environment around you. Joe Dispenza’s groundbreaking research on the connection of energy and consciousness reveals how much your environment shapes your mental, emotional, and physical state.
“The environment is an extension of our mind. If you change your environment, you can change your mind—and ultimately your life.” – Dr Joe Dispenza
Dispenza’s studies suggest that every thought, emotion, and intention carries a measurable vibrational frequency. These frequencies don’t stay locked inside the individual; they transmit outward, influencing the energetic field shared by others. This is why your environment—particularly the people within it—has a subtle or profound impact on your personal state. Whether you rise into your highest creative potential or sink into self-doubt and despair often depends on the energy dynamics of your environment/people around you.
In one of his lectures, Dispenza explains: “When you’re surrounded by incoherent energy—stress, negativity, or fear—it pulls your own energy out of coherence. The quantum field responds not to what you want, but to who you are being. And if your energy is scattered or influenced by others, your ability to create is diminished.”
Solitude
Living alone, on the other hand, can create a vacuum of energetic purity. Free from the vibrations of others, your brain enters the Flow State—a neurological condition linked to peak creativity and focus—more frequently. Solitude allows your energy to stabilise, becoming more coherent and aligned. Dispenza notes that this coherence is essential for manifestation:
“A coherent signal sent into the quantum field is like a laser—it’s focused, powerful, and precise. An incoherent signal, influenced by chaotic or conflicting energies, scatters like light through a cracked lens.”
Supporting this, the HeartMath Institute has found that strong emotional states such as anger, anxiety, or joy and love etc radiate measurable electromagnetic waves from the heart. When others in your environment are emitting low frequencies (e.g., fear, anger), these waves can synchronise with your own energy field, lowering your vibration without your conscious awareness and vice versa with high frequencies.
Furthermore, Dispenza discusses the concept of “energetic sovereignty,” a state in which your energy is no longer compromised by external influences:
“When you’re alone, you own your energy entirely. Every thought, every emotion, every action is yours to direct. But when you’re in an environment of competing energies, you lose that sovereignty. You’re no longer creating; you’re reacting.”
This isn’t just theoretical. Numerous studies show how external negativity can drain your emotional reserves. In research on workplace environments, for example, psychologist Christine Porath found that exposure to toxic behaviour significantly decreases productivity and emotional well-being, even if you’re not the direct target.
On the flip side, environments filled with high-vibration energies—like gratitude, creativity, or love—amplify your ability to thrive. Dispenza often quotes ancient spiritual principles in modern terms: “Your environment is either fertiliser for your growth or poison for your potential. The question is, which one are you feeding yourself?”
Consider this: every time you share space with someone whose energy is chaotic or negative, you’re subtly pulled into their vibration. You might feel drained, unfocused, or even emotionally unstable. This is the silent sabotage of your potential. And unless you actively protect your energy or consciously choose uplifting environments, these influences will continue to shape your life and what you attract.
When you reclaim your space and align your energy, you become unstoppable. Alone, you create a sanctuary where your thoughts, emotions, and intentions resonate clearly with the quantum field. Dispenza says it best: “The clearer the signal, the faster the manifestation. Solitude doesn’t just give you more time; it gives you uninterrupted energy. And when your energy is focused, you become a magnet for the reality you desire.”
This chapter dives into the unseen ways your environment and connections impact your vibration, providing actionable steps to identify and sever negative ties while cultivating a space that supports your highest potential. The real question isn’t whether your environment is affecting you. The question is: Are you choosing an environment that elevates or sabotages your life?
Manifesting with Positive Energy
When I reflect on the miraculous and unexpected moments in my life, they’ve always seemed to occur when my energy was aligned—often following a healing session or while immersed in a spiritual environment surrounded by like-minded souls.
Here are a few memorable examples:
- 🌟During my healing tour in the USA, something extraordinary happened after a session with a beautiful spiritual healer. The same day of the healing, I was spontaneously invited on stage by Rev. Michael Beckwith while visiting his Agape centre. The moment felt like pure synchronicity, as though the Universe had perfectly orchestrated it just for me.
- 🌟 Shortly after creating the first five modules of Forensic Healing, which I rigorously tested on myself and experienced a profound shift into a new dimension of energy, an influential Aboriginal leader from central NSW visited me for a healing session. Feeling moved by the healing experience, she hired me for ten thousand dollars to spend a week at their Aboriginal respite care centre, conducting workshops and offering healing sessions.
- 🌟Visiting Uluru was another magical experience. Immersing myself in its sacred energy and exploring its revered spiritual sites left me feeling spiritually connected. During this transformative time, something remarkable happened—I met Oprah. At that moment, it felt monumental and incredibly meaningful. While my perspective on celebrity encounters has shifted since, it still stands out as a moment of alignment and possibility.
- 🌟While attending a healing workshop, a gifted healer worked on me and said, “I’ve just cleared the block preventing you from meeting your soulmate.” Amazingly, just two weeks later, I met John, who would soon become my husband. His presence in my life was pivotal. Without him, Forensic Healing might never have come into existence, and I wouldn’t have been pushed to grow into the person I am today.
- 🌟One especially powerful moment unfolded during a 7-day live workshop. A distraught grandmother shared her heartbreaking story: her two-year-old granddaughter had been placed in the custody of a drug-addicted mother following the tragic loss of her son. Despite her pleas, the police had done nothing to intervene. Together, as a group, we focused our collective energy and visualised the child safely reunited with her grandparents. Incredibly, just two days later, the police intervened, and the little girl was placed in her care. That child, now a teenager, is still thriving, living with her grandparents.
These experiences are only a few of thousands. They are powerful reminders of how investing in your energy can create space for the extraordinary to manifest. By connecting to positive energy and focusing on your intentions, you can open the door to miracles in your life.
The Bracelet
How could a beautiful Peruvian bracelet—something so charming and full of meaning—possibly be the cause of back pain? When I first started out on treating clients, lovely woman came to me seeking relief from chronic back pain. During our session while scanning her energy field, something caught my attention: a curious connection between her pain and the exotic bracelet she wore with pride. Intrigued, I brought it up.
“There seems to be some negative energy attached to that bracelet,” I said, unsure of how she would react. “It might be affecting your back.” She smiled politely but shrugged it off, explaining that she had purchased the bracelet from a very kind-hearted old Peruvian woman during her travels a serveral months prior.
As I listened, an idea came to me. “Why don’t we try something? Remove the bracelet now, and when you get home, store it in a jar of salt, away from your house for a while. Let’s see if anything shifts.” She agreed, and I proceeded with the healing. By the end of the session, her back pain had completely vanished. A few weeks later, she contacted me, enquiring if she could wear her bracelet again. “I’ve really missed my bracelet,” she said. “It’s been sitting in the salt jar, just like you said, and I’m eager to wear it again.”
I gave her the green light as the thought of her reluctance to believe me I thought might be enough to overpower the negative energy “Go ahead, try it on,” I said, not checking it energetically first. The moment she slipped it back on, she collapsed to the floor in excruciating pain, her back pain returning with vengeance.
It seemed the bracelet wasn’t just an accessory—it was carrying an energetic imprint, possibly even an entity, and that energy was the culprit behind her chronic pain. Without hesitation, she decided to part with it for good. This experience, along with many others over the years, demonstrated a powerful lesson: everything we encounter—whether it’s an object, a place, or even a person—carries its own energy. That energy can either lift us up or weigh us down in ways we might not even realise.
Science proves that everything consists of energy; everything connected to you has your energy, the energy of the environment, and the energy of where it originated. As a result, when things aren’t going well or obstacles exist, it could indicate that there is a form of negative energy present in your environment.
Negative energy doesn’t just vanish into thin air; it can mutate and linger, attaching itself to people, places, and objects that have been affected by trauma, grief, or negative emotions. Imagine an old family heirloom that’s been passed down through generations but also carries with it the shadow of a tragic event—perhaps the loss of a loved one or a deep family dispute. That object, though treasured, can absorb and hold on to the emotional weight of that moment, passing it on to anyone who touches it. So, every time it’s admired or used, it subtly radiates the negative energy of the past.
It’s not just objects that hold energy—places do too. Picture a vibrant park filled with the laughter of children and the gentle sounds of nature. The energy there feels light, uplifting, and even healing. Now imagine an old battlefield, a prison, or the site of a natural disaster—places marked by conflict, pain, or tragedy. These spaces can absorb the heavy, low-vibrational energy of past events, often leaving anyone who visits feeling uneasy, weighed down, or haunted by the lingering echoes of what once happened there.
You’re no exception to how energy flows and affects the world around you. Your emotional states radiate energy, and when you’re feeling consistently angry, anxious, or depressed, you might unknowingly project that energy outward, creating a toxic atmosphere. It’s like an invisible cloud of negativity hanging around you, casting shadows over everything and everyone you interact with. That’s why certain spaces or encounters leave you feeling drained, heavy, or unsettled—you’re picking up on the energy in play.
The Cursed Scarf
Years ago, I received an unexpected gift—a scarf—from the husband of one of my students. His name was Tamil, and the gesture puzzled me as I had never personally met him . His wife, my student, had simply passed it on, explaining that he often returned from trips to India with gifts for others.
At the time, I thought little of it. But later, I uncovered a startling truth: Tamil was an Indian herbal doctor with a sinister side. During a candid conversation, his wife inadvertently revealed that Tamil practiced dark rituals alongside his herbal treatments. She confessed he performed these rituals on his clients, though she was unaware of the full extent of his actions.
In time, it became clear that Tamil wasn’t merely healing his patients—he was intentionally creating problems for them. By doing so, he ensured they would continually return to him for help. The pieces began to fall into place when other clients came forward, admitting they, too, had received gifts from him. One patient, independently of my conclusions, confirmed suspicions that his generosity was far from innocent.
Not long after I received the scarf, strange and troubling events began to unfold in my life. I felt an eerie disconnection from Source; the spiritual tones I often experienced, which felt like divine downloads, suddenly ceased. Technical glitches rendered my brand-new website unusable. Disturbing local events added to the turmoil— a nearby stabbing that resulted in a death, the arrival of noisy neighbors, and, mysteriously, all the exits in my apartment building being locked without explanation, trapping us inside. This occurred right before I was due to travel interstate for a workshop. Then, the unthinkable happened: my cat vanished from my third-floor balcony. Miraculously, by morning, he had returned, seemingly unharmed. Still, the series of strange incidents left me unsettled.
Amidst the chaos, I felt an inner prompting urging me to discard the scarf. Trusting my intuition, I got rid of it and performed a thorough, energetic cleansing. The effects were immediate—peace returned to my home, and the bizarre occurrences stopped. Despite this, I felt compelled to move to a different building in the same apartment complex, sensing the Universe was guiding me to make a change.
That move turned out to be serendipitous. In my new building, I became close friends with my neighbour in the adjacent apartment—a connection that blossomed into a lifelong friendship. A year later, I returned to my original apartment. Around this time, I began working with one of Tamil’s wealthy clients, Tony. During our sessions, Tony revealed a troubling pattern: Tamil had been trying to manipulate him into a business partnership.
Tony had been under Tamil’s influence for years, attending twice-weekly sessions that yielded no meaningful improvements. Even his family seemed entangled in Tamil’s web. When I began working with Tony, my focus was on empowering him to reclaim his strength, heal from past traumas, and make decisions from a place of clarity and confidence and not leave it up to someone else to tell him.
During one of our sessions, as I attempted to remove the dark energy connected to Tamil, I felt a sudden sharp stabbing pain in my wrist—like a knife piercing my skin. Startled, I pulled my hand away, and the pain subsided after some minutes. Undeterred, I resumed the healing process, then suggested to Tony that he remove every item Tamil had given him.
This act proved transformative as they searched the house for all the free gifts he had given them. Freeing himself from Tamil’s energy, Tony regained his power and confidence. He never returned to Tamil, and his life began to flourish. This experience reaffirmed a vital truth: objects, people, and even relationships can carry energy—both light and dark. Recognising and releasing these connections is essential for reclaiming our freedom and well-being.
You Absorb the Energy of Your Environment

As mentioned in previous chapters, to change your outcomes, you must embrace the simple truth: everything is made of energy. Niels Bohr, the renowned Danish physicist and Nobel Prize winner, summed it up beautifully: “If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet. Everything we call real is made of things that cannot be regarded as real.”
But how does this affect you? Everything in your environment—including objects and people—acts as a container for energy. They absorb and encapsulate the emotions and intentions they’re exposed to. Think about a family heirloom that’s been present during heated arguments or emotional moments. That item likely holds onto the intense energy of those events.
The same principle applies to the energy of your home. A cluttered or disorganized space disrupts the harmony of the environment, creating chaotic or heavy energy. On the other hand, a well-arranged, harmonious home radiates calmness and serenity. You’ve probably noticed this intuitively—some spaces feel welcoming and peaceful, while others feel tense or unsettling. of your text with enhanced flow, clarity, and engagement.
Household Items Absorb Energy
Even technology can serve as a conduit for energy. Since electronic devices rely on electrical energy, they can interact with the energy you emit. Your thoughts, emotions, and intentions—your overall energetic state—can influence how these devices function. Have you ever noticed technology acting up when you’re feeling stressed or emotionally overwhelmed? Devices might freeze, crash, or malfunction, and it’s no coincidence. Negative energy—whether from your emotions or your environment/other people—can disrupt their operation. Yet, when the energy shifts through a positive mindset, emotional balance, or environmental cleansing, these same devices often return to functioning smoothly.
This idea extends beyond technology. When you view the world as energy rather than mere matter, you open the door to reshaping your reality. Everything you interact with—your thoughts, your surroundings, and even your devices—responds to the energy you bring to it. Why do some items, like cars, computers, or appliances, seem to last for decades, while others constantly break down? Often, the answer lies in the energy surrounding them. In environments where harmony flows, objects tend to operate effortlessly, remaining reliable for years without issue.
Always Apply Law of Attraction
It’s amusing—I’ve had people ask, “I bet you make light bulbs burst or appliances malfunction when you enter a room!” I smile and respond, “Not at all.” Such disturbances are a reflection of negative energy, and their effect would indicate an imbalance in my own energy. After all, isn’t that the essence of the law of attraction—or the science of energy itself?
I experienced the true impact of energy firsthand in my late twenties while working part-time at Hepburn Springs Spa Resort as a beauty therapist. After finishing a session with a client, I joined a group of massage therapists gathered around the reception desk. Among them was one therapist who stood out—not for his skills, but for his negativity. He was venting his grievances about women.
Unable to ignore the negativity, I responded, “That’s quite a gift for your clients—massaging all that negativity into their bodies.” Looking back, I realise I was already attuned to energy, even if I didn’t fully understand it at the time. In the early 1990s, energy and its influence weren’t common topics of conversation, yet I intuitively grasped its significance.
What happened next took me completely by surprise. He snapped, “Oh yeah? Well, now I’m going to flick all that bad energy onto you,” and proceeded to flick his fingers and hands toward my face. At the time, I dismissed his actions, thinking, He can’t affect me; I’m protected by the Holy Spirit. As a devout Mormon then, I believed I was shielded. However, shortly afterward, I felt an undeniable shift. A dense, dark energy seemed to envelop me, casting a shadow over the rest of my day.
I became overwhelmed by feelings of depression and paranoia and withdrew from social interactions the remainder of the day. Initially, I didn’t connect the therapist’s actions to the sudden onset of this emotional shift. It wasn’t until years later that I understood what had occurred: his deliberate action had transferred his negativity to me, and my energy field had absorbed it. That realisation helped my understanding of energy exchanges and their impact on emotional well-being.
Energy, whether positive or negative, accumulates and influences everything around us. Take a moment to reflect on your home—the very space you live in. Think about its construction, the furniture, the food you eat, the clothes you wear, and even the decorations and memorabilia that fill your space. Where did these materials come from? Who made them? What materials were used in their creation? How were they tested? What impact did their production have on the environment, animals, or even the people involved in making them?
Each of these factors contributes to the energy these objects carry. Surrounding yourself with items created in positive, ethical, and sustainable ways can elevate the energy of your home and, by extension, your life. Conversely, items born of harm, exploitation, or environmental damage may bring a different kind of energy into your space, subtly influencing how you feel and function.Every product carries an energetic footprint, shaped by its origin and the conditions under which it was made. For example, buying locally crafted goods carries a far different energy than purchasing mass-produced items from sweatshops.
It’s like the contrast between eating a fresh, organic meal prepared with love and care versus indulging in greasy fast food. One nourishes your body and energy, while the other subtly drains you. Similarly, the energy surrounding you —whether from people, objects, or environments—affects your emotional and physical well-being in subtle but powerful ways. People also carry energy, and negative emotions like anger and jealousy can greatly affect their surroundings. Anger emits harmful energy that creates a hostile atmosphere, draining the vitality of everyone involved. Those who constantly blame others for their misfortunes contribute to a toxic environment that lowers the vibrational frequency of everyone around them.
Jealousy, often rooted in resentment, is equally destructive. It stems from discontent with one’s own life and manifests as negative energy directed toward others, as though attempting to diminish their blessings. As the saying goes, “Jealousy is a curse.” It doesn’t just harm its target—it also corrodes the energy of the person harbouring it. Both anger and jealousy create openings for negative entities to latch on, lowering the vibrational frequency of everyone involved.
In today’s world, everything is becoming increasingly transparent. Energy, while invisible, attracts its vibrational match, making it impossible to conceal. There’s nowhere to hide anymore—what you carry within reflects outwardly, shaping your experiences and interactions. Media is also another powerful source of energy that influences your emotional and mental states. Television, streaming platforms, and social media all play a significant role in influencing your thoughts and feelings. Constant exposure to negative news or distressing content can breed anxiety and fear, while engaging with positive, uplifting media has the power to elevate your mood and perspective.
Consider the difference between watching a suspenseful thriller versus a heartwarming movie. The emotional energy these films evoke lingers long after, subtly influencing your thoughts, actions, and overall energy. Dr. Joe Dispenza once wisely said, “Don’t expose yourself to anything you don’t want to experience.” This serves as a reminder that the media you consume has a direct influence on your energy and, ultimately, the reality you create.
Dr Masaru Emoto
Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, dedicated over 20 years to researching how human words, thoughts, and sounds can influence the structure of water molecules. In his groundbreaking experiments, Dr. Emoto labeled water samples with words like “love and gratitude” or “I hate you,” then froze the samples and captured high-speed microscopic photographs of the crystallization process. The results were striking. Water exposed to positive words, such as “love and gratitude,” formed clear, symmetrical, and beautiful crystals. In contrast, water exposed to negative words like “I hate you” produced distorted, asymmetrical, and opaque crystals.
Dr. Emoto’s experiments demonstrated that water exposed to positive intentions formed organized, hexagonal patterns—similar to the natural, structured water found in nature—while negative intentions caused the water to lose its structure and mutate. These same effects were observed in samples of polluted water, suggesting that water is highly sensitive to external influences.
Dr. Emoto theorised that water possesses consciousness and can retain the memory of everything it comes into contact with. This concept was supported by Russian studies, which found that water is imprinted by the energy of its environment, holding onto memories even after separation. These experiments confirm that your environment influences you in both subtle and significant ways. The less you compromise with your surroundings, the more positively your life will transform.
In parallel, Dr. Bruce Lipton’s research on the genome revealed that genes can be turned on or off based on environmental factors. Each of the approximately 50 trillion cells in the human body functions independently, constantly evaluating its surroundings through its outer membrane. Stressful emotions activate the fight-or-flight response in cells, inhibiting healing, while positive emotions encourage a healing state.
Experiments in nurturing environments have shown that cells can thrive and even reverse damage, such as malignant tumors, when exposed to positive, supportive conditions. Many individuals have cured diseases, including cancer, by maintaining a positive mental attitude. The protective membrane of cells, which contains negatively charged sugar crystals suspended in a gel-like form of water, plays a vital role in this process. Recent scientific discoveries have identified a fourth state of water—structured—which is crucial to the body’s natural propulsion and healing systems.
With negatively charged gel water propelling blood, this electro-polar state challenges the traditional belief that the heart simply pumps blood, overlooking the fact that the body operates through a natural propulsion system, which relies on a connection to the Earth, sunlight, positive human interactions, and a peaceful state of mind. The health of each cell in your body is interconnected, and your individual happiness plays a significant role in your well-being, as well as the well-being of others.
Your environment is like the food you consume—it shapes you, influencing you in both visible and subtle ways. Just as you resemble those you spend the most time with, you are also the product of your past environments. This includes both the positive and negative influences: toxins, chemicals, food, drink, drugs, medications, community, culture, media, television, EMFs, radiation, and even the energetic atmosphere of your home. The impact your environment has on you is profound and far-reaching.
A person’s environment acts as a reflection of their internal blueprint—affecting their energy, mentality, and emotional state. It can either uplift or harm you, often in ways you might not immediately notice. Think of it like the subtle influence of television programming, which slowly seeps into your consciousness, shaping how you feel and think without you even realizing it.
The Wizard of Oz Spell
A student of mine shared a concerning story about her two-year-old son, after watching The Wizard of Oz. The movie, filled with spells, witchcraft, and dark magic mixed with messages of how the matrix operates, affected her child. After watching it, his behavior changed drastically. He refused to eat vegetables, became more interested in junk food, and started exhibiting disruptive behaviors, even struggling at school. He began saying things like, “I like the dark.”
However, after a distant healing session to remove a spell, great changes followed. When his mother returned home, the negative energy had been cleared. Her son reverted to his usual behavior, eagerly ate vegetables again, and seemed to regain his joyful, natural self. Environments continuously interact with your energy, subtly competing for your focus and emotional state. Living in a cluttered, chaotic space, such as with a hoarder, can drain your energy, creating feelings of overwhelm and stress. The constant disarray creates mental noise, preventing you from feeling peaceful and centred. In contrast, a tidy, welcoming environment allows your energy to flow more freely, supporting a sense of clarity and balance.
The same principle applies to relationships. Being around a loving, non-judgmental, and fun friend naturally uplifts you, increasing your vitality and confidence. Conversely, spending time with someone who is constantly critical or makes you feel inadequate can deplete your energy, leaving you feeling drained and insecure.
However, the key is knowing you have the power to transcend environments that aren’t supportive. When you surpass the limitations of an unsupportive environment—whether physical, spiritual or emotional—you initiate an internal shift that influences not only how you feel but also how the world around you responds.
By changing internally, you set the stage for your environment to reflect that change. There are many ways to shift your environment, from setting boundaries with people to making intentional changes in your physical space. Ultimately, as you elevate your energy, your surroundings will begin to align with that higher vibration, bringing about transformation both inside and out.
